I’m Chris. I’m a big fan of the American dream – the idea that anyone who works hard can achieve a good life for themselves and their children. Technology plays a big role in that dream. It affects how much we get paid for our skills, how we group ourselves, what is important to us, and even what we think is true. I want to help create a world where the American dream is available to everyone.
I have worn many hats, including researcher, teacher, writer, and change-maker. My research has focused on inequality, technology, self-organization in social systems, and the complex causes that generate sticky social problems. As a community college math teacher, I had the honor of getting to know students from a wide variety of backgrounds. As a change-maker, I learned that success requires a combination of insightful, big-picture thinking and careful, in-the-weeds attention to detail.
I am currently working for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration doing internet policy. All content on this site is my own. For more about me, check out my CV or LinkedIn.
